The Thunder were one of the strangest franchises in sports history making the playoffs in every season despite never having a winning record. In the team's first season an usually weak conference allowed the team to sneak in the playoffs. The following year the Las Vegas Gladiators folded, allowing the Thunder to take their playoff spot. In 2016, the league took over the team and renamed them the Portland Steel. With the league barely staying alive all teams in the league qualified for the playoffs.Â
