The Hawaiians T-Shirt
The Hawaiians played in the World Football League from 1974-75. They were originally to be called the Honolulu Warriors but could not use the name due to the University of Hawaii team. Without the Warriors name, they were known simply as "The Hawaiians". The league wanted to keep the NFL out of Hawaii and made the team play on Sundays while the rest of the league played on Wednesday nights. The Hawaiians overcame a 1-7 start to make the playoffs in their first season, but the league folded midway through the second season.
