St Louis Stallions T-Shirt
Team Info
Years Active: None (Proposed in 1991 & 1994)
Stadium: Trans World Dome
In 1991, the NFL was down to 5 finalist teams for league expansion: Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Bombers, Memphis Hound Dogs and St. Louis Stallions. The Stallions' ownership group was so confident that a team would be coming to St. Louis that a stadium was already under construction. When the Stallions were not chosen, the new stadium attracted the New England Patriots who planned to move and take the Stallions name in 1994. Robert Kraft took over the team at the last minute and kept the Patriots in New England. Eventually the Rams took the stadium, but not the Stallions name when they moved to St. Louis in 1995.
