Seattle Steelheads Jersey

Team Info

The Seattle Steelheads played in the West Coast Negro Baseball League in 1946. The team was owned by Harlem Globetrotters founder Abe Saperstein, who moved most of the players from his Harlem Globetrotters baseball team to the Steelheads. Jesse Owens often traveled with the team to race against people and horses as entertainment between innings. The team played its home games at Sick's Stadium, but planned to also play in Tacoma, Bremerton, Spokane and Bellingham before the league folded after only one month. Once the league folded, the Steelheads went back to traveling the country as the Harlem Globetrotters baseball team.
