The Seattle Kings were a proposed NFL team in the 1970's set to play in the appropriately named Kingdome. The ownership group with vice president Hugh McIlhenny went as far as to design helmets, form a booster club and set up an office with a giant football on the roof. Ironically, the football ended up burning down as did the dreams of football in Seattle when the group ran out of money. A few years later another group would bring the Seahawks to the NFL.
