Sacramento Gold Miners Jersey
Years Active: 1993-1994
Stadium: Hornet Stadium
The Sacramento Gold Miners were the first American team to play in the CFL. The team was made up mostly of the Sacramento Surge front office and roster, which had played in the World League of American Football until the league ceased play. The Gold Miners had a difficult 1993 season and in 1994 just missed the playoffs when they lost on a controversial call in the last game of the season. Hornet Stadium proved to be unsuitable and Sacramento's distance from the rest of the league made traveling difficult. The team moved to San Antonio in 1995, becoming the San Antonio Texans.
