Pittsburgh Maulers Mini Helmet
Team Info
The Pittsburgh Maulers played the 1984 season in the USFL. The team was owned by Edward DeBartolo Sr. whose son owned the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Francisco 49ers at the time. The team only sold out one game, when former Steelers QB Cliff Stoudt came to town as a member of the visiting team. The crowd threw snowballs and booed Stoudt throughout the game. Despite drafting Heisman winner Mike Rozier in a draft that proved to be rigged, the team only won 3 games. When the USFL's move to the fall was announced the team folded after just one season.
