The New York Black Yankees were originally known as the Harlem Black Bombers founded by one of the most popular entertainers of the time Bill "Bojangles" Robinson and Harlem local James "Soldier Boy" Semler. The team played most of its existence in the Negro National League and is notable for having one of the first no hitters on record in the Negro Leagues thrown by Elmer McDuffy.
