Denver Spurs T-Shirt
The Denver Spurs began play in the Western Hockey League in 1968 and moved to the Central Hockey League in 1974 when the WHL folded. The Spurs had an agreement to become an NHL team for the 1976-77 season, however the deal fell through. Instead the team joined the WHA for the 1975-76 season. The Spurs had poor attendance and it became clear that the Colorado Rockies would be taking the place the Spurs would have had in the NHL. Halfway through the season, the team moved to Ottawa to become the Civics.
