Calgary Cowboys Jersey
Years Active: 1975-1977
Stadium: Stampede Corral
The Calgary Cowboys team had most recently been the Vancouver Blazers and the move to Calgary was its fourth move since the 1972 planned Miami Screaming Eagles. In its first season, the Cowboys were successful on the ice and beat the Nordiques in the first round of the playoffs. The series was known for a legendary brawl in which police had to get involved and assault charges were filed. A poor second season and low attendance led to the team folding after the 1976-77 season.
