1979 Proposed Cleveland Barons Jersey
The Cleveland Barons played two seasons from 1976-78 at Richfield Coliseum. The team had originally been the California Golden Seals which moved following the 1975-76 season. From the beginning, attendance was poor and the team could not even draw as many fans as the Crusaders which had recently relocated to avoid competing with the Barons. During the first season the Barons were forced to take out a loan from the players association just to finish the season. By the end of the second season it became clear the team could not continue. In 1978 the Barons merged with the Minnesota North Stars.
