The Riders were coached by Mike Riley with Cowboys legend Tom Landry serving as GM. The team was solid, but despite a 7-3 in 1992, did not qualify for the playoffs in a competitive division. When the league suspended operations following the 1992 season the Riders were accepted into the CFL, but folded before the season began.
