Cincinnati Stingers Beanie

Team Info

The Cincinnati Stingers began play in the WHA in 1975 at Riverfront Coliseum. Although the team made the playoffs in 2 of its 4 seasons, attendance was below average. As a result the Stingers were not included in the WHA merger and ceased play after the 1978-79 season. The team briefly attempted to come back as a minor league team the following year but folded after 33 games. The Stingers remain the only major league hockey team to ever play in Cincinnati.
