The Gunslingers were best known for their strong defense nicknamed "The Bounty Hunters." Off the field, however the Gunslingers were more known for financial problems. Players would race each other to the bank to cash checks, knowing half of them would bounce. The franchise was eventually revoked by the league when the owner stopped paying bills.
