1969 Pilots Jersey
Years Active: 1969
Stadium: Sick's Stadium
The Pilots were originally not scheduled to begin play until 1971, however the date was moved 2 years ahead in order to keep the number of teams in the league even. The early start proved to be a disaster as Sick's Stadium was barely equipped for a minor league team, let alone the Pilots. The team struggled on the field and was at the bottom of the league in attendance. It became clear the team could not continue under those conditions while waiting for a new stadium to be built. In 1970, the ownership group declared bankruptcy and the team was sold after just one season.
