Team Info

The Baltimore Stallions played 2 seasons in the CFL from 1994-95 as part of the league's expansion into the U.S. Originally named the Baltimore Colts after the former team, the NFL would not allow the name. The name was changed to Baltimore Football Club, before eventually becoming the Stallions. Hall of fame coach Don Matthews led the team to the Grey Cup in their first season where they lost on a last second field goal. The following year, the Stallions won the 1995 Grey Cup, becoming the only team outside of Canada to do so. In 1996, the Cleveland Browns became the Baltimore Ravens and the Stallions never played again. The Stallions are considered to have been cancelled and the owner resurrected the Montreal Alouttes where he signed many of the Stallions players to the current version of the Alouttes.
